After ninety days of protocols training, facility adjustments, establishment of safety measures and a strict international certification, Mazatlan is ready to welcome tourists starting July 1st, 2020.

This announcement comes just in time for the start of summer travel, which is a strong season at the so-called Colonial City on the Beach.

All local services which are part of the Responsible Tourism Chain will participate in the new normal, including airport, transportation, hotels, restaurants and tours, among others.

“Everyone is ready to provide the traditional hospitality and smiles of the Mazatlecans to our visitors”, said Oscar Pérez, Secretary of Tourism for the state. “The tourists will experience a few operational adjustments in the destination; however, the beaches, attractions, gastronomy, warmth and beauty of Mazatlan remain the same."

Mazatlan has made a strategic alliance with Preverisk, a prestigious international certification company, who has audited the destination and businesses’ protocols established for the new normal, considering the advice of the World Health Organization, the Mexican Health Department and others.

Also, the World Travel & Tourism Council has awarded the destination with the Safe Travels stamp, recognizing the deployment of measures in favour of the traveller’s safety.

The top priority of our destination will continue to be offering unique vacation experiences as well as safety of our citizens, associates and visitors. Mazatlan has been selected multiple times as one of the top tourist destinations for retiring, mainly due to its availability of world class medical and hospital infrastructure.
