Travel-By-Design faces administrative penalty from Consumer Protection BC

Travel-By-Design faces administrative penalty from Consumer Protection BC

Consumer Protection BC has issued a compliance order and administrative penalties against Travel-By-Design a licensed travel agency based in Vancouver.

The order was issued after the agency failed to ensure that the twelve receipts for travel services contain the conditions for reimbursement of any money received, carrying an administrative penalty of $2,400.

In addition to the administrative monetary penalties, the business has been ordered to reimburse Consumer Protection BC partial costs of the inspection in the amount of $400. The compliance order, notice of administrative penalty and the full reasons for the decision are available on our website. By law, the business has 30 days to request a reconsideration of the decision.

All money received from administrative penalties is deposited into the Consumer Advancement Fund.
