Air Canada has reorganized its global sales team, creating two new positions and appointing some already-familiar faces, PAX has learned.

Timothy Liu, previously Senior Director, Commercial Strategy, is appointed to the position of Managing Director, Sales Planning and Effectiveness and continues to report to John. This is a new role that is designed to remove current duplication in the Sales organization and to centralize and build a centre of excellence to support our field sales teams, our agency partners and Corporate sales team.

Virgilio Russi, previously Senior Director - Sales Canada, is appointed to the position of Managing Director, International Sales, and continues to report to John.  Virgilio replaces Tim Lui in his previous position and will be responsible for sales strategies and achieving sales targets in all International markets.  Virgilio will also continue to lead Air Canada’s participation in the Trans-Atlantic Joint Venture.

Lisa Pierce, previously, Senior Director, USA Sales and Market Development, is appointed to the new position of Managing Director, Canada and USA Salesand continues to report to John. In her expanded role Lisa will lead the North American sales team and will be responsible for developing and implementing the sales strategies to ensure North American targets are achieved.

All three will report to John MacLeod, Air Canada’s Vice President Global Sales & Alliances.
