The Canadian Transportation Agency has approved Air France’s application to operate flights to Tahiti from Vancouver, a route not currently served by any Canadian or French carriers.
The decision, announced last week, would provide Canadians travelling to Tahiti a more direct route than Air France’s current flight from Los Angeles and also opens the door to a possible Paris-Tahiti flight via Vancouver.
In 2017, Air France was granted a temporary permit to operate between French Polynesia and Canada, via intermediate points in the U.S.
