
The Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) has announced the completion of rehabilitation work on Runway 18/36 at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.The project included complete asphalt pavement resurfacing of the 11,000 foot (3,350 metre) runway, removal and reinstallation of runway centerline and touchdown zone lights, and localized land drainage sewer repairs.This $8.2 million construction contract was awarded to Manitoba-based Maple Leaf Construction Ltd., and contributed to our economy by employing local construction workers during the project.
