Sunwing offering 2X the points for bookings to Mazatlan

Sunwing will be offering agents double STAR points on all new bookings to Mazatlan made from now until Oct. 23 for departures Nov. 1, 2018 to Apr. 30, 2019. 

The announcement was made just days after the tour operator completed their first-ever mega FAM trip to the Pacific Mexican destination. On Oct. 11, 161 top-selling agents from both Toronto and Montreal travelled down to Mazatlan on Sunwing’s new Boeing 737 MAX 8 airplane where they received an official welcome from Julio Birrueta, director of the tourist board for Mazatlan and Oscar Perez Barros, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Sinaloa.

The best of Mazatlan

Over the following three days, the agents explored the best the destination had to offer, including visiting its most popular hotels and touring the historic downtown. The group stayed at Riu Emerald Bay where they were welcomed with a cocktail reception and private dinner on the beach. They also enjoyed a special performance at the historic Angela Peralta Theatre in the city’s colonial centre, along with a formal dinner at El Cid El Moro Beach hotel that ended with a performance from the town’s carnival troupe of dancers together with a firework display.
