Transat Training Academy Series Showcases Sun Collection

Transat Holidays and Nolitours hosted their semi annual travel agent training academy at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel in Vancouver last night.

The tour operator’s winter sun product was showcased during the trade show, with supplier partners from across Mexico and the Caribbean on hand to update travel agents on the latest developments on a range of properties.

During the presentation, attention turned towards the 2014-15 Sun Collections, as well the latest service schedules and destinations offered from the Western Provinces.

“From Western Canada we will continue to offer eight gateways- from the B.C. market we’ve got Victoria, Vancouver and Kelowna; in Alberta we’ve got Calgary and Edmonton, and in the Prairies we’ve got Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg to destinations in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Jamaica,” said business development supervisor Christy King.

A new service offered this winter season is Edmonton- Los Cabos weekly service, and Regina will be launching new weekly Cayo Santa Maria service.

Kings said the top selling destination from Western gateways continues to be Cancun.

All flights to sun destinations this season will be day flights, using both Air Transat and Enerjet aircraft. It was also announced that Air Transat has plans to add more Boeing 737 aircraft to service Western Gateways.

King said group bookings out of Western Canada continues to grow, and that travel agents booking 99 or more cumulative passengers will earn two complimentary seats on select Air Transat sun destination flights, and bookings of 200 or more cumulative passengers earns four complimentary seats.

A new automated group quote booking tool will be available online in September. Travel agents will receive a quote back via email moments after completing the online form.

Highlights from Transat Holidays’ and Nolitours 2014-15 sun brochures include the addition of Marival all inclusive properties now available in Mexico, and new to the Experience Collection are ‘Duo’ packages.

The Duo packages include dual destination experiences, with five nights in Cancun and two nights in the colonial city of Merida on offer in Mexico, and dual Havana and Varadero packages available in Cuba for clients who are interested in experiencing two destinations in one trip. The Duo packages are also available in the Nolitours collection.

Cuba Cruises, offering departures from Havana and ports of call in Antilla, Santiago de Cuba, Jamaica and Trinidad is again available exclusively through Transat.

King also said agents should be on the lookout for Transat Holidays’ new cruise brochure, set to launch next month.
