United Launches Kelowna- San Francisco Service

Kelowna International Airport (YLW) became San Francisco International Airport’s (SFO), seventh Canadian destination and 84th North American destination when United Airlines commenced its daily year-round, non-stop United Express service this week.

Tourism Kelowna and Big White were on hand to welcome the inaugural flight and to market Kelowna to visiting representatives from Bay Area Snow Sports Council.

Last May United announced it would be redirecting its YLW service from LAX to SFO.  Daily scheduled service from YLW to LAX will end Sept. 19, however seasonal LAX to YLW non-stop service will operate from Dec. 20 to Jan. 4 on Saturday and Sundays and then on Saturdays only Jan. 31 to Feb. 7 to accommodate the ski travellers.

Daily non-stop flights depart SFO 12:40 p.m., arriving at YLW at 3:18 p.m. and depart YLW at 3:55 p.m., arriving at SFO at 6:33 p.m.,  using an ACRJ200 regional jet aircraft with  50 United Economy seats and the 70 seat two class CRJ700.
