WestJet Vacations’ Hawaii Road Show Rolls Through Vancouver

Travel professionals got a taste of the Hawaiian Islands at WestJet Vacations annual Hawaii road show at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver on Tuesday night.

Representatives from the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau and supplier partners showcasing properties from across the Hawaiian Islands were on hand during the trade show to bring agents up to date on hotel and tourism developments.

During presentations, Emily Spadafora, WestJet Vacations’ sales rep, B.C. & Alberta outlined the packaged vacations available for Hawaii- bound travellers.

Spadafora said WestJet Vacations has over 100 hotels and condominiums in its product lineup throughout the Hawaiian Islands, and added that base package prices are commissionable.

“Our Hawaii product offering has a range for everybody through all of our great supplier partners,” she said.

“You can do three nights minimum up to 22 nights- we have an option as long as the flight schedule is there.”

WestJet will fly a total of 51 flights per week from B.C and Alberta gateways this winter season, running from Oct. 26 2014 to Apr. 25 2015.

To Honolulu, two flights per day will depart from Vancouver, one flight from Victoria per week and two flights per week from Calgary.

Maui flights depart Vancouver twice daily, four times per week from Calgary and three times per week from Edmonton. Vancouver will also have daily service to both Kona and Lihue this winter season.

“We have really ramped up our Hawaiian service from Vancouver,” Spadafora said.

Christina Aldanese, regional director, Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau, delivered a destination presentation clarifying the differences among the Hawaiin Islands, and which Islands are the best suited to which types of clients.

Aldanese also reminded agents that the CVB’s new trade-facing website-agents.gohawaii.com- has been updated with educational programs and marketing tools to help sell the destination.

WestJet Vacations Hawaii road show continues this week in Calgary and Edmonton.
