Anderson & AAT Kings Partner To Promote New Touring Options Downunder

Anderson Vacations partnered with Australian tour operator AAT Kings to promote the latest holiday options in the land of OZ at an exclusive travel agent seminar at the Water St. Cafe in Vancouver last week.

Calgary-based Anderson Vacations specializes in tailoring vacation packages in Australia and New Zealand, and to diversify their tour offerings, has partnered with Aussie coach tour operator AAT Kings, which provides a range of adventure travel packages.

AAT Kings is not a new company- they have been operating coach tours Downunder in various forms for 87 years, but their portfolio has been rapidly expanding with a number of acquisitions that led to a rebrand two years ago.

Originally started as Pykes Touring in 1927, the company held fast in the Australian inbound market, and began acquiring portions of AAT, or Australian Accommodated Tours.

“February through July of 2012 we took on a number of acquisitions, so now we operate in every state and territory in Australia, and we are repositioning the product to showcase our different trip styles,” Fleur Ulbrick, head of international sales, AAT Kings told PAXnewsWest.

“We have evolved and over the years and our most recent change is our new logo,” Ulbrick added.

AAT Kings offers several trip styles, including Day Tours, Short Breaks, Guided Holidays and Aussie Adventures, as well as guided vacations in New Zealand. The company also recently invested $7 million into modernizing its coach fleet, which has capacity for 20 up to 48 passengers.

“We’re here to communicate our value to the Canadian trade- we only work with the trade up here, and we don’t anything in terms of consumer direct, so we’re very trade focussed,” Ulbrick said.

The AAT Kings touring experience is highlighted by rustic, boutique accommodations, off the beaten track where no WIFI is to be found. Immersive adventure experiences ranging from half day trips to 22 day journeys are on offer in Australia’s Grampians National Park, Kangaroo Island, the Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Tasmania and both the North and South Islands in New Zealand.

Half or fully day tours are available in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns and the Gold Coast. All product offerings range from cost efficient through to luxury.

Darcie Guarderas, director of business development, Anderson Vacations, said the company is proud of its ongoing relationship with AAT Kings, and looks forward to growing business with the support of AAT Kings.
