B.C. Aviation Council Announces 2014 Award Winners

The British Columbia Aviation Council (BCAC) has announced the winners of the Aviation Awards for 2014.

The awards will be presented at the Silver Wings Awards gala on Oct. 30 along with more than $15,000 in scholarships to deserving students in the fields of flying, engineering and aviation management in programs from all over British Columbia.

The winners are as follows:

WestJet Encore was named Entrepreneur of the Year for its new regional service in B.C.

BC Hydro Aircraft Operations Department takes the Back and Bevington Air Safety award for their work in elevating the safety level in the helicopter industry in B.C.

The Lifetime Achievement award goes to John Morris of Blackcomb Aviation; the Robert S. Day award goes to Kelly Jamieson, Pilot and Chair of the Aviation Leadership Foundation Mentorship Program and the William Templeton Award goes to North Peace Regional Airport for its ‘Fly Local’ marketing campaign.
