Carnival updates: Magic to cruise from Norfolk, Fly2Fun provides new air options

Carnival Cruise Line has signed a five-year agreement with the City of Norfolk to operate seasonal cruises from the Half Moone Cruise Center through 2025.

As part of the agreement, the City of Norfolk has agreed to make investments at the Half Moone Cruise Center to accommodate larger vessels and provide an enhanced guest experience including a new boarding bridge that will streamline the embarkation and debarkation process and a host of other improvements.

The 130,000-ton Carnival Magic will become the largest cruise ship to ever sail from Norfolk when it launches a series of 12 cruises from the port in 2021 that will carry nearly 50,000 guests.

Carnival guests can Fly2Fun

In other Carnival news, the cruise line has introduced a new Fly2Fun air option on carnival.com, providing guests the added convenience of securing their air arrangements immediately after completing their cruise booking.

With this new functionality, guests or their travel agents can choose from Carnival’s Flexible or Restricted Air flight options, and select their travel dates, preferred carrier, and flight schedule with immediate confirmation. Guests can also view the flight itinerary of their traveling companions when making their air reservations. Guests who choose a Flexible Air flight option can pay for their air at time of final payment and will not incur fees if changes are made prior to 60 days of the scheduled flight.

Additionally, Fly2Fun offers competitive airfares and flight protection in the event of flight disruptions, providing reassurance that Carnival will make arrangements for guests to meet the ship at the next port of call.

The Fly2Fun link is available within My Cruise Manager via carnival.com. Fully deposited guests will be prompted with air options from all major carriers and flights departing from major airports across the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America, and Europe. The program has certain restrictions.
