Celebrity Cruises has revealed a stunning $500 million set of fleet-wide renovations aboard the Celebrity Summit, as part of the next chapter of the Celebrity Revolution.
PAX joined in on the fun this week, checking out the new features and amenities that await guests as part of a two-day preview, departing San Juan, Puerto Rico, and continuing into the British Virgin Islands.
Taking a tour around the ship, we were able to see some of these upgrades first-hand.
The all-new Celebrity Summit’s revolutionary enhancements include:
- Completely redesigned staterooms and suites
- The addition of The Retreat for suite guests, with exclusive new sundeck and redesigned lounge
- Stunningly reimagined restaurants, bars and lounges
- Fully redesigned spa and casino
Celebrity Summit’s bow-to-stern transformation has been 31 days in the making, and began on Feb. 17, 2019, in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
Careful attention was paid to the new staterooms, with guest comfort at the forefront of the redesign process.
A total of 30 new staterooms, including 13 new AquaClass Staterooms, seven new Ocean View Staterooms and 10 new Inside Staterooms.
Enhancements made to the staterooms and suites include fully redesigned staterooms and bathrooms, an all-new open-air hideaway known as The Retreat Sundeck which also sports a hot tub, cabanas, and sun loungers, and the Retreat Lounge formerly Michael’s Club – an exclusive 24/7 lounge for suite guests with free drinks.
Enhancements aboard the Celebrity Summit continue into the dining spaces, with updated decor and culinary offerings in bars and restaurants, including the popular Oceanview Café, which now offers outdoor seating, and the Casino Bar, which has been totally renovated.
Celebrity Summit is just the second “Revolutionary” redesign for the brand, with Celebrity Equinox scheduled to enter dry-dock in May 2019 and six more ships to be modernized by 2023.
