Quark Expeditions has announced its Antarctic 2021/22 season, complete with the inaugural season of its new polar vessel Ultramarine.

Central to Quark Expeditions’ approach to the 2021/22 season is Ultramarine’s inaugural sailing in Antarctica.

“This technologically-advanced polar vessel—custom built for polar exploration—changes the way travelers explore the polar regions,” said Thomas Lennartz, vice-president of sales at Quark Expeditions. “Ultramarine, because of its design and cutting-edge technology, can take people places other ships can’t. This purpose-built ship will be an unrivaled operational base for polar adventure, allowing guests to push their boundaries and experience the magic of the polar regions by land, by ice, by sea—and by air.”

The 199-passenger Ultramarine features two twin-engine helicopters, 20 quick-launching Zodiacs, (including Exclusive Heli-Landing and Alpine Heli-Trekking), onboard comfort and amenities (including a sauna with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the polar landscape), spacious spa-inspired suites, advanced sustainability and safety systems, and a unique interior design that keeps guests connected to the breathtaking polar landscapes outside while they relax inside.

Guests will enjoy beautifully-designed public spaces and more outdoor wildlife viewing spaces than other expedition ships its size.
