Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun is currently experiencing internal complications that the brand fears could impact guests' overall vacation plans.
As a direct result, guests are being relocated to a new property, free of charge.
"As conveyed recently, the property owner is experiencing an internal reorganization which may temporarily impact the expected brand standards," AMResorts president, Gonzalo del Peon said. "To ensure guests receive an Unlimited-Luxury® vacation as promised, those with reservations at Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2019 will receive alternative accommodation at Secrets The Vine Cancun or Breathless® Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa."
Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun is still open.
However, AMResorts reports that "to ensure guests enjoy the travel experience they have come to expect, the decision has also been made to issue a stop sale until the owner resolves their situation.
AMResorts says that it's working with the owner of the property and will reopen sales as soon as possible. The hotel has been in contact with any guests who have been impacted, and says it will continue to share information once more becomes available.
Transat, which offers the property to its guests, says it has a plan in place.
"Transat travellers booked at Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun were made aware of the temporary closure of the property and have been given the choice to change to another AM Resorts property of equal or superior level such as the Secrets The Vine Cancun or Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa," Marie-Annick Lalande, public relations and marketing advisor, Transat, told PAX.
