AMResorts talks new resorts, new products, & new Master Agent program

Big thing are on the horizon for AMResorts in 2019.

Starting in the first quarter of the year, the luxury hotel group will open its first-ever European resort in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, followed by resorts in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, both Spanish islands known for their beautiful beaches and rich culture.

From Europe to the Atlantic, a series of new openings and new offerings are on the table for travellers looking to get the most out of their vacations, while enjoying luxury to the fullest.

PAX caught up with Brian Joseph, business development manager, AMResorts, to learn more.

Making an entrance: Europe 2019

Earlier this year, it was announced that Apple Leisure Group and Grupo Inversor Hesperia (GIHSA) had entered a strategic alliance in order to operate its four resorts in Spain with the AMResorts brands

"European travellers have long embraced the all-inclusive concept, and frequently visit AMResorts’ resorts in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America," Joseph told PAX. "They appreciate the added value we offer with our signature vacation concepts, Endless Privileges, Unlimited-Luxury, Unlimited-Fun, and Defined Delights, and our brands have resonated with this market."

He continued:

"This made expanding into Europe a natural extension of Apple Leisure Group’s growth strategy, and we could not be more excited to welcome guests to the four resorts we currently have planned in Spain. Through the partnerships we are forging, we see great opportunity to continue to grow in the region as well, given the plethora of beautiful beachfront destinations that would make ideal locations for our brands."

The four hotels are currently operated under the Hesperia brand. Beginning in 2019, two will operate under the adults-only Secrets Resorts & Spas brand, and the other two under the family-friendly brands: Dreams Resorts & Spas and Amigo Resorts.

Secrets Mallorca Villamil Resort & Spa will open in March 2019, followed by Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa and Amigo Fuerteventura Resort in May 2019. Lastly, in November 2019, Dreams Lanzarote Resort & Spa will debut as a five-star property (formerly a four-star hotel).

While AMResort's first European property comes online, in 2019, the new Sunscape Star Cancun will also make its debut sometime in the summer of 2019. It's a property that Joseph calls "the next phase in the Sunscape Resort & Spas brand’s evolution."

"This will be a family-friendly resort offering our Unlimited-Fun concept," Joseph told PAX. "What makes this resort extra special is the focus on an elevated experience, including modern rooms and suites, each offering ocean views from every room, twice as much live entertainment as is standard at Sunscape properties, free Wi-Fi for everyone, and more. The resort will have four pools, including an adults-only Sun Club rooftop pool, a surf pool, watersports, an Explorer’s Club for Kids, Core Zone Teen Club, access to a beautiful beach, access to golf next door, and the list goes on."

Taking time to Reflect

Earlier this year, AMResorts launched Reflect Resorts & Spas for spirited travellers seeking locally-inspired experiences, excellent dining, and the brand's best-in-class services and amenities, all in an atmosphere that is welcoming for both adults and families. 

Reflect Resorts & Spas offers the signature Unlimited-Luxury vacation concept, where everything is included, and no wristbands are required. Guests enjoy limitless access to gourmet à la carte dining, reservation-free; unlimited top-shelf spirits, natural juices and soft drinks; 24-hour room and concierge services, pool and beach wait service, daily refreshed mini-bars, twice-daily maid service, endless daytime and nighttime activities, and more.

There are currently three resorts under the Reflect brand: Reflect Krystal Grand Cancun, Reflect Krystal Grand Los Cabos and Reflect Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta. These resorts all offer prime beachfront locations that are close to the cultural centers of Cancun, San Jose del Cabo and Puerto Vallarta, comfortable accommodations, pristine pools, on-property activities and extensive meeting and event spaces.

Just for agents

AMResorts is excited to launch their brand new Master Agent program, which will provide enhanced educational offerings already provided to agents.

Additionally, and just in time for the holidays, AMResorts is sharing the details on their latest Holiday Booking Bonus, where agents who submit their bookings at AMRewards.com can earn double points. Agents must book their clients’ winter getaway to Secrets and Sunscape Resorts & Spa properties in order to qualify.

Guests must stay a minimum of four nights and the bookings must be submitted by Dec. 31, 2018 to benefit. The booking window is through Dec. 31, 2018, with a travel window of Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2019.

The company also announced that its 2019 Master Agent Wedding and Honeymoon FAM schedule is now out. Wedding specialists who wish to experience AMResorts properties and services first-hand should go to AMRAgents.com under "Wedding Resources" for details.
