Canopy by Hilton was launched in 2014 to appeal to travelers looking for locally inspired stays that want to immerse themselves in local culture and history. The brand, which currently operates nine hotels around the world and will soon open another 35 properties, aims to offer travellers a unique and authentic experience.
About the hotel
Located just steps from the Company's Gardens, the city's historic epicenter, the Canopy by Hilton Longkloof Cape Town will revive the heritage of a 112-year-old site, the Longkloof Studios, which are included in the neighborhood's growth plan at which Growthpoint dedicated an investment of 550 million rand.
DHK Architects was responsible for the restructuring of the building, which originally housed the activities of the United Tobacco Company and later became the headquarters of the Cape Women's Institute.
In keeping with the historic integration of Growthpoint into the social fabric of the city, travellers will be greeted by friendly "Enthusiasts" selected for their knowledge of the local context and will be invited to take part in tastings of food and drink alongside from the local community.
