Due to the “current economic climate” of the travel industry, Excellence Resorts will be temporarily closing Excellence Punta Cana effective this Friday, March 20, 2020, PAX has learned.
“The decision has been reached as a strategic measure that will optimize our operations through these challenging times while allowing us to continue to exceed your expectations,” wrote Domingo Aznar, vice president of sales and marketing, in a letter posted to the resort’s Facebook page Monday night (March 16th).
A reopening date for the property has been set for June 5th, 2020.
“Please note that any current or future reservations will remain open even after the aforementioned closing date; however, all guests visiting during this period until the reopening date will be accommodated at Excellence Punta Cana’s sister property, Excellence El Carmen, which is only a few minutes away,” Aznar wrote.
Aznar added: “It is always our goal to provide outstanding service that leaves you with everlasting memories and a desire to come back; therefore, you can rest assured that upon arrival to Excellence El Carmen, you will be given a suite that is equivalent or higher in quality and value to the one you booked at Excellence Punta Cana.”
No reported cases of COVID-19
Aznar confirmed that as of Monday, no cases of COVID-19 have been reported at the properties or their surroundings.
“Our team will continue to reinforce our heightened cleaning and disinfection procedures to guarantee an enjoyable and healthy stay in Punta Cana. Additionally, our on-site medical centers are available 24 hours a day for your peace of mind,” Aznar wrote.
With the resort's current flexible rescheduling policy, guests who can no longer travel on their original dates can reschedule through December 22, 2020 at Excellence Punta Cana (while being honouring on their original rate) or any other Excellence properties.
“We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause. Kindly understand this measure will allow us to continue offering you the high standards and excellent experience you expect from our brand,” Aznar wrote.
