RIU opens two all-inclusive hotels in the Maldives

RIU Hotels and Resorts has opened up two hotels n the Maldives. 

Riu Atoll and Riu Palace Maldivas are 4- and 5-star hotels respectively and they are located on Dhaalu Atoll. Both hotels offer guests suites over the magnificent Indian Ocean.

The two hotels, on two separate islands, are linked by an impressive 800-metre walkway over the water. The 72 suites over the water of the Riu Palace Maldivas are located both sides of this walkway.

Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas

Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas, a five-star hotel located on the private island of Kedhigandu, offers an all-inclusive 24-hour service, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a wide range of cuisines and many relaxation and entertainment options.

The new property has Junior Suites located in various villas, as well as the exclusive overwater suites, some of which have small private pools. Its more than 150 rooms are equipped with minibars, drinks dispensers, kettles, air conditioning and satellite tv, among many other facilities.

The hotel's pool features a swim-up bar and the beach is within walking distance.

The main restaurant serves buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners with live cooking stations, and the Japanese and fusion cooking restaurants where guests can enjoy delicious à la carte dishes for dinner. There's also an Italian restaurant and the steakhouse at Hotel Riu Atoll.

There's also the Junior Suite with beach access, which gives you everything in the Junior Suite, plus a patio that provides direct views to the ocean.

Suite: overwater

47 m2 suites at the Hotel Riu Palace Maldivas have one king-size bed (200x200 cm) or two small double beds (125x200 cm), a sofa in the lounge area, satellite TV, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, drink dispensers, minibar and a kettle. In addition, on the terrace you can enjoy a bathtub, a Balinese bed, sun loungers and direct access to the sea.

Suite with private pool: overwater

These suites, located over the water and with with private pools, have been specially designed for guests who want to experience a stay with luxury in every detail. These 60 m2 suites at the Hotel Riu Palace Maldivashave one king-size bed (200x200 cm) or two small double beds (125x200 cm), a sofa, dressing area, satellite TV, air conditioning, a ceiling fan, drink dispensers, minibar and a kettle. And if that’s not enough, on the patio with direct access to the sea you can enjoy a small private pool, a Balinese bed and sun loungers.

Riu Atoll 

Hotel Riu Atoll, a four-star, all-inclusive hotel is located on the private island of Maafushi in the Maldives. The property offers free Wi-Fi, a rich range of culinary options and the exclusive service that characterises the brand, among many others.

Junior Suite: overwater

These 37 m2 rooms offer you one king-size bed (200x200 cm) or two small double beds (125x200 cm), a sofa in the lounge area, satellite TV, minibar, an electric kettle, drink dispensers, air conditioning, ceiling fan and a patio with a Balinese bed, sun loungers and direct access to the sea.

Superior Junior Suite: overwater

In these 41 m2 rooms, located over the water, you have one king-size bed (200x200 cm) or two small double beds (125x200 cm), a sofa in the lounge area, a bathroom with shower and bathtub, satellite TV, minibar, an electric kettle, drink dispensers, air conditioning and a ceiling fan. In addition, on the terrace you can enjoy a Balinese bed, sun loungers and direct access to the sea.

Both overwater junior suites have a small terrace and loungers to enjoy the views.

Good to know

It is compulsory to book transfers from Malé International Airport to hotels in the Maldives (outward and return). 

The transfer is by scheduled flight to Kudahuvadhoo (approx. 45 minutes) and the journey is completed by motorboat to the hotels (approx. 15 minutes).
