Consumer Protection BC has issued a compliance order and administrative penalties totaling $1200 against Tian Bao Travel Ltd. (DBA Compass Holidays), a licensed travel agency based in Burnaby BC, for:

Failing to display its Consumer Protection BC licence number in visual advertisements (namely, marketing flyers and employees’ business cards) contrary to section 9 of the Travel Industry Regulation, an administrative penalty of $400 Failing to include addresses of the purchasers of travel services on its customer receipts as well as the Respondent’s Consumer Protection BC licence number, contrary to section 12.1 and of the TIR, respectively, an administrative penalty of $800.

In addition to the administrative monetary penalties, the business has been ordered to reimburse Consumer Protection BC partial costs for the inspection in the amount of $800 within 30 days. By law, the business has 30 days to request a reconsideration of the decision.
