Looking for a way to quickly book your clients to nearly anywhere in the word?

Travel agents, meet the Travel Genie.

The newest booking tool in the TravelBrands suite, Travel Genie allows agents to quickly customize packages for clients directly in their preferred GDS; currently, Travel Genie can be accessed through SIREV, Sabre, Galileo and Amadeus, with plans to integrate with Revnet in the near future.

According to Nathalie Tanious, TravelBrands’ senior vice-president – commercial, until recently, travel agents could only ‘access’ dynamic packaging on TravelBrands Access. Through the power of the Genie, agents can book air and hotel or air-only, with the “cheapest, most direct flights” always promoted first.

“It’s all about dynamic packaging in distribution,” Tanious told PAX. “Canadian agents love GDS, so this was a way for us to give them a tool that’s right there at their fingertips. Traditionally, agents would go into GDS to book mainstream destinations; what we’ve done is taken it a step further. It’s not your standard seven- or 14-day vacations. Basically it’s a mix and match of whatever destinations a client wants, whatever duration they want; you can book single, double or triple staterooms.

“Travel agents can make a payment or booking – whatever they can do today in GDS, they can now do with us. It allows us to offer a traditional charter destination concept but for worldwide destinations.”

Travel Genie 101

Tanious provided the following Travel Genie tips for agents:

  • Once logging into their preferred GDS, agents can simply click on the Packages section and select the TBA (TravelBrands Agents) tab, where they can choose destinations or air-only.
  • Up to six passengers can be booked at once; when booking multiple passengers, the occupancy must remain the same in all rooms.
  • Agents can add mark-ups on packages (hotels are commissionable, airfare is net, Tanious said).
  • All e-docs and invoices can be retrieved from the My Booking page on TravelBrands Access.

Win big

Until June 30, for every booking made through Travel Genie, bookings will be placed in a draw with one lucky travel agent winning $10,000 plus another $10,000 awarded to their agency.
