Transat Distribution Canada has appointed Louise Fecteau as the general manager of TDC, and Karine Gagnon as Transat's commercial director for the Quebec Region.
These changes follow the departure of Nathalie Boyer, who has accepted a senior executive role outside the travel industry. Nathalie Boyer will leave the company on July 31. Fecteau will assume this new role starting August 1.
Currently commercial director for Quebec, Fecteau has more than 25 years of experience in the travel industry and a thorough understanding of how agencies operate.
"Louise is one of the most respected figures in our industry, and her leadership qualities are well known," said Joseph Adamo, president and head of distribution, Transat. "I am confident that she will successfully lead the TDC network over the next few years and that her appointment will be unanimous in the industry."
The perfect fit
Gagnon, who currently holds the position of manager, products and destination services for Transat, will replace Fecteau on August 1 and report to Adamo.
"Karine is the ideal person to take on this new challenge," Adamo expressed. "Before joining Transat in December 2014, she had already acquired extensive sales and marketing experience in the travel industry with various tour operators and hotel chains."
Speaking about Boyer, Adamo also added:
"I would also like to thank her sincerely for her valuable collaboration and many accomplishments. From her beginnings at Consultours, through her stay in France, to her last two years at the helm of TDC, Nathalie has contributed to our success in a remarkable way. I wish him every success in her new role and throughout his career."
