WestJet has appointed Charles (Chuck) Crowder as vice-president, sales and distribution.
In his new role, Crowder reports to Arved von zur Muehlen, chief commercial officer. Crowder assumes his duties on April 29, 2019.
Crowder has worked in a sale environment for 28 years, focusing on the global travel and aviation industry.
He joins WestJet most recently from Avis Budget Group where he served as vice-president, global accounts and cross border sales, in charge of developing the global sales strategy with large corporate and travel management companies. Prior to that, Crowder held various sales leadership and general management positions with United Airlines and Continental Airlines in the United States and Europe.
“I look forward to Chuck’s arrival at WestJet,” said Arved von zur Muehlen. “We are looking to expand our distribution capabilities in support of WestJet’s global growth and transformation to a network airline and Chuck’s diverse experience is well-suited for WestJet to challenge the incumbents in these markets.”
