Transat, along with 30 of its suppliers, welcomed Vancouver travel agents to the Delta Burnaby last night to present its 2018-19 winter product line-up at the first of 11 showcase events across Canada.

“Tonight is getting agents excited about the winter offerings,” said Dean Neville, sales manager, Western Canada for Transat. “Obviously we have south, but we’re also including Europe, which is new.”

European destinations are reached via connecting flights in either Toronto or Montreal. Out of Vancouver Transat offers Lyon and Marseille once a week and Paris three times per week; Rome twice weekly; Faro and Lisbon once a week; Malaga once a week; Glasgow twice weekly, London, Gatwick four times a week and Manchester once a week.

Seamless connections

Calgary clients can connect through Toronto for Faro once a week; Glasgow once a week, London, Gatwick three times a week; and Dublin once a week.

From Edmonton Transat offers weekly service to Glasgow, twice weekly London, Gatwick service and Manchester once a week, all via Toronto.

“It ties into our new domestic program,” noted Neville.

Transat’s domestic program features five weekly flights between Vancouver and Toronto and three weekly flights from Vancouver to Montreal; three weekly flights from Calgary to Toronto; and two weekly flights from Edmonton to Toronto.

Southern expansion

“This year out of Vancouver with the change in schedule, we now have the opportunity to give you Punta Cana four times a week; Varadero twice weekly; Holguin twice weekly; Cayo Coco, Cayo Santa Maria and Montego Bay, which is back, and Puerto Plata,” said Neville outlining the expanded list of sun destinations offered via Toronto connections.

From Calgary, clients can connect via Toronto to Punta Cana and Varadero three times a week; Holguin and Puerto Plata twice a week; and Montego Bay, Cayo Coco and Cayo Santa Maria once a week.

Edmonton clients can fly over Toronto to Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Varadero twice a week and Holguin once a week.

Non-stop flights south out of Vancouver feature five flights a week to Cancun; one flight a week to Huatulco and daily service to Puerto Vallarta. Out of Kelowna Transat offers weekly service to Cancun and twice weekly service to Puerto Vallarta, while flying weekly from Victoria to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta.

From Alberta there are flights to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta three times a week from Calgary and Edmonton, plus weekly service between Edmonton and Huatulco.
